Our Story
Rooted in Communities. Driven by Hope.
For over a decade, Asha Kiran Grd has worked at the grassroots level to bring dignity, care, and opportunity to the most vulnerable communities in West Bengal and Jharkhand.
How It All Began
Asha Kiran Grd was founded in 2010 with a simple but powerful belief — that every elderly person deserves to live with dignity, every child deserves a chance to learn, and every woman deserves the freedom to build her own future.
What began as a small community initiative in rural West Bengal has grown into a registered non-profit organisation operating across two states, touching over 12,000 lives through programmes in elderly care, community healthcare, women empowerment, and child education.
We work not as outsiders, but as partners — embedded in the communities we serve, listening before acting, and building solutions that are sustainable long after our direct involvement ends.
Vision
A society where every individual — regardless of age, gender, or economic status — lives with dignity, access to care, and the opportunity to thrive.
Mission
To empower marginalised communities in West Bengal and Jharkhand through compassionate, community-led programmes in elderly care, healthcare, women empowerment, and education.
What We Stand For
Dignity First
Every person we serve is treated with respect, compassion, and the recognition of their inherent worth.
Community-Led
We listen before we act. Our programmes are shaped by the communities themselves, not imposed from outside.
Transparency
We hold ourselves accountable to our donors, partners, and beneficiaries through open reporting and honest communication.
Sustainability
We build capacity within communities so that change outlasts our direct involvement and grows on its own.
Founding Leadership
